Hindrances to recognition in Finnish music schools

This article examines recognition relations between students and teachers in Finnish music schools. The research is based on written texts by school students. are analysed for difficulties relations, namely, hindrances to In the texts, some of respondents describe situations that can be as recognition. author analyses four different types recognition-related problems data, main issue being a tension caring people (respecting them) promoting musical values (emphasising esteem). addition discerning problems, attempts alleviate this tension. might achieved if kinds excellence, rather than just one, were developed Students’ abilities motivations then have chance emerge. Caring context studying would mean helping them find they want promote.
